Welcome to Hosea Church. We are a non-denominational, Bible-based, Christian church in Raleigh. Our desire is for people to learn about Jesus in an impactful and life-changing way and to fulfill Jesus’ great commission of making authentic disciples of the nations. We are part of a small network of churches who encourage and build each other up, and plant healthy local churches in cities around the world. We meet on Sunday mornings at the DoubleTree Hotel on Hillsborough street; very close to NC State University, and downtown Raleigh.
Hosea is the sixth church plant sent out of Blue Sky Church in Bellevue, Washington.
The plans for Hosea Church began in April 2018 when Jesus made it clear to Blue Sky’s lead pastor, David Bieraugel, that he was to plant a new church in Raleigh, NC. After months of prayer and planning, a diverse team of 56 adults and 14 kids from Blue Sky came together to form the beginnings of Hosea Church.
Our vision is to be a relational, Jesus-centered church that passionately holds to the truth of the Bible and plants many more healthy local churches.
Why Are We Called Hosea Church?
One morning in the Fall of 2018, our lead pastor, David Bieraugel, was praying and asking Jesus what this new Church would be called. The name "Hosea" very quickly came to mind. After looking into its meaning, it became clear that Hosea Church would in fact be our name. The word "Hosea" means salvation in its original language, and the story of the book of Hosea highlights God's faithfulness to an unfaithful people. We believe that God deeply wants to redeem sinful people through the saving love of Jesus, and are excited to share this message with the world.
